Does anyone know the thread size of the oil galley plug immediately behind the power steering pump ? It is not a BOSS thread or a pipe thread. It is between a #3 and #4 BOSS thread. A 1/8 pipe thread will start into this tapped hole but I do not trust it. I would like to install a # 6 AN flare fitting into the oil galley plug so that I may run a by pass filtration system. Woul you know where I can purchase these fittings, aircraft or marine industry??

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks !!!

I dont know what size it is, but www.summitracing.com will have the fittings you need. Call them if you dont find it on there site and ask for the tech department. They stock the entire Aeroquip line, they just dont list on there website or in there catalog

The oil galley plug is 10 mm in diameter and has a thread pitch of 1. 00 mm with an "O" ring seal. I will give Summit a call and see if they have such an animal. Although, I might add, I went to a large Aero Quip Dist. here on LI and he never saw the plug that I had. Thanks, Tony

oil galley adapter fitting

I was informed by a fellow professional mechanic who said I should look no further than my friendly Dodge Boys. Ask for part # 05012296AA. This adaptor fitting will allow you to tap into the oil galley plug and run a oil by-pass filter to clean up your engine lubricating oil.
