Im pretty sure its the HG but maybe just by chance (cross your fingers) it could be the oil cooler. The truck runs fine no problems no white smoke out the exhaust i just noticed i was low on coolant so i put about a gallon in. the next day i notice my resivoir is black and the radiator has oil in it. but like i said the truck runs perfectly fine. Anyway n e one know of a way to test it to narrow it down thanks alot.

Same thing happened to me and it was not the oil cooler. I went ahead and removed it first and pressure checked it since R&R'n the oil cooler is a lot easier than removing the head. Cooler turned out to be fine, I ended up blowing the HG around cylinder #6. I went ahead and put a new cooler on with my HG swap for cheap insurance since they do have a tendency to crack and cause the oil in the water.

Ditto to the warning. I actually got rust on the main journal from the water trapped in the crank and main caps. (It did sit for a few months while waiting for time to rebuild it all. When I pulled the head I saw why I got the truck so cheap, scuffed cylinders. :-{} )

Me bad, me pay! :{
