I seem to have found an oil leak at a freeze plug which is located on the passenger side directly above the oil pan. It is a single freeze plug that is about the size of a quarter and is filling a hole in the block that looks like is was to be a dipstick entry or something. Has anybody had this problem? Any advice on how to fix it?

Thanks,

Jamie

that is a frost plug used to block off the aux. oil return line for a turbo setup. Lots of guys use that when plumbing twins. it goes directly into the crankcase so that would explain the oil. Try a cummins dealer for the correct part, or pull the plug and match the size at a local parts store.

The problem would be pulling the plug without getting anything in the pan. Why not spray clean the area and goop in some RTV. There should not be any pressure from the oil pan, just oil slopping around inside.

Perfect that is just what I needed to know. That makes sense since the PO Brandon had twins and might have used it as an oil drain and it now is leaking. Thanks again.
