hi, my truck is an 09 with only 52000klm on it. but the other day i noticed a oil leak right where the T-case makes on to the transmission, not good. what worries me so much is that my brother had a 2003 that had this happen several times

they put a new Transfer case housing in it on warrenty and then he ended up paying himself the next 2 times that it cracked. i know that the transmission is different in our trucks, but is the T-CASE the same? is this a common thing with these trucks? i know it would be fixed on warrenty but it kept on happening with my brothers truck. thanks for any imput or advice

I have replaced a couple that had leaks in the case itself but most are just seals. The transfer cases should be the same module between the 03 and 09 2 different as far as shifting type

so is this t-case still being used in cummins rams now? if not when did they change? in my experience a leaking seal is evidence that a bearing is developing slackness and allowing the shaft to move just enough that the seal cant do its job.
whats the track record on these t-cases how long do they last generally? thanks
