Oil is leaking from the lower mounting bolt on the vacuum pump. I thought it was from the front of the pan gasket but don't know for sure. Has anyone had a similar problem? The pan gasket repair is very EXPENSIVE. Ideas gratefully received.
I have this same leak, and don't know how to fix it. I just had the vacum pump replaced, no help. So any help would be great. Well i better get ready to pack, Driving back to Indiana for christmas break, 1600miles. alonzo
Usually it is the gasket between the vacuum pump and the gear housing that leaks. Occasionally the pan gasket will leak but I don't think it the culprit as often as the vacuum pump one.
If that's it, it's a pretty easy fix. Two bolts if remember right, and you're done. Just be sure to prevent any lines from getting pinched/kinked and your good to go.
BTW, check this out closely... . make sure you haven't lost your KDP... if you have... ... well..... it's ugly
Theres 3 bolts. 2 large 16mm? and 1 - 10mmbracket bolt. Remove oil sender connection plug to clear when pulling out pump. Gasket change is real easy. Leave all lines connected and just back out enough to slip old gasket off and new one one.
Does the Vacuum pump gasket need a silicone sealant? I haven't seen the gasket yet. I will get to it when I have a chance to pick one up, probably a week or two. Thanks for the prompt response.
