Complained of an oil leak on my 2001. 5 a while back along with a few others. I was convinced it was not the valve cover or draft tube but was the rear main seal. Well, good thing I ran my hand along the back of the head before I took it in. #ad
Anyway, mine was the valve cover and it has been fixed for now.

Didn't get into it with them and it was after hours when I picked it up. They charged DC for a new gasket... . whatever that means. I'm just hoping all this snow will somehow wash all the oil of my drive. #ad

rrxp689,

Thanks for the info. I also have a leak coming from somewhere. I too thought is was the rear main seal. Had Jim Leonard take a look-see when he installed my clutch and he said the rear main seal is OK. Guess I’ll be looking at the valve cover gasket next.
