I have an annoying oil leak that is getting worse. I think it is coming from around the front timing cover, and blowing all over everything. How likely is this to be the problem? How hard is the gasket to replace, and should I do the oilpan gasket at the same time, even though I doubt its leaking? Are there any other things I should look for that are likely to leak? I also plan to replace the belt, its junk. Thanks in advance.

Nick, check out your bolts, I had a leak on my front cover that turned out to be a loose bolt, also it might be covered under warrantee.

Nick on my 97 it was leaking from the adapter that connects the power steering pump to the vaccum pump. It was just a small drip but it blew on the oil pan and all over the starter. You can't get the seal from Dodge or Cummins they only sale the vaccum pump for over $400. 00. I lucked out when I went to MGM's to do the dowell pin fix with CPFF and Gene. CPFF had a new seal and O-ring for the pump. Either way yours should be under warranty.

What do you haul with that monster gooseneck and which is better torsin or spring axles?I am planing to get one.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll call the dealer about that engine leak being under warranty. I pull a Cat D4 dozer, NH 985 skidsteer, and various other things. . We are thinking about selling it for a semi trailer.....

I had the front cover leak also, dealer replaced the gasket and a few miles later leaking again only worse. I took it back two weeks ago and they replaced the front cover and gasket and so far so good. Maybe the cover was warped,I just hope this fixes it I hate oil on the floor. This is like a 14 hour job every thing up front has to come off out of the way.
