Why am I driving a Dodge Stratus?

I have a drop of oil at the base of my bell housing at all times. Any body else seen this? The dealer tells me it may not be covered if it does not drip 4 or 5 times per minute! The bottom 4 inches of my housing is now wet and that can't be good but I know it doesn't drip that often as my oil level has not dropped and there's no spots on my driveway. The oil is not coming from above and I can get a q-tip up into the opening in the bottom of the housing and it's clearly wet in there. The dealer says he will put some dye in tomorrow and check it next week. By the way' I'm dealing with Monroe dodge in Washington state and expect this will be a test of their service. I will keep you all informed.

Are there any Dodge tech's out there that can shine some light on what I should expect from my dealer?

Basically your dealer is saying it is OK for the motor to LEAK 1 quart for every 7000 miles. You will have a pretty big mess under that truck then. I sure hope that is not indicative of the kind of service you will get from them. Good luck.

There is nothing in any shop manual or any where else with D. C. etc. that says its ok to drip oil at a certain rate!Did you ask the guy who told you this what solvent he had been breathing!
