I have around 8,000 miles on the truck and I have a couple of oil leaks that I haven't been able to trace to the source. Some type of oil is accumulating on the bottom of the starter motor. Since the starter is directly below the lift pump I thought that maybe I had a fuel leak and it was dripping on to the starter but there is no oil on top of the starter or on the sides. I've wiped it clean a few times but it always comes back.
The other leak is at the mating surface between the transmission and the clutch housing cover. It seems to be seeping from there but the oil doesn't smell like the Castrol Syntork. I've wiped this area clean as well but the fluid re-appears.
I was wondering if anyone had any similar experience. I've checked the engine and the oil pan and I can't find any leaks in those areas. I have the blowby hose extended and tied to the front sway bar. I know fluid dripps from it but I don't see how that it could blow back and land on the bottom of the starter motor and/or the seam between the clutch housing & transmission.
I'm not ready to visit the dealer on this one - yet.
