Hope you don't have an issue; but, it does really depend on if you park the truck nose down or up and how long you wait. Park it on level ground and give it some hours, check again. In my experience with a dealer change it will be about full or a bit above on the stick.

I’m guessing you haven’t burned any and it’s just different temps and truck attitudes.

If you have them 3 gallons it would be hard to be overfilled by 2 quarts unless they stopped the drain while it was still flowing heavily.

Two quarts full would be as far above the full line as the full line is above the add line.

Whitehorse is 2700 feet Anchorage is 100-200 feet might be right has something to do with. I’m sure it’s not leaking or urning it. Just thought it was very strange what happen to two guards . Will check it stone cold and level when I go out in a bit. Coffee time here.

Took two hours to get thru the border. It was like slow motion. And we were pre registered to cross Once we got to our turn it took two minutes. I think they are having staffing issue same as every where else

Ok 10 k plus so 7 k since oil change. Now the oil level is spot on the full mark . I check it every morning a matter of habit so where did it go . Either the truck burned it or it leaked out. I say it burned it.

My 2022 went from full to add on our 13,900 mile trip to Alaska and back. Had 1% oil life left when I changed it when we got home.

My 2008, 6.7L has never burned any oil between oil changes. When the truck was new, I would always check every week when the oil was cold and down in the pan. Now I only check before I change the oil.

My 98 12V would use a quart every 5k. My 15 I will put in the 2/3 quart I did not add at the time I changed the oil at around 7500 miles. So 12 quarts gets me 15k no problem.

I agree with all said above, my 99 with 256K on it has used about 1 qt between oil changes (usually 7500 to 8500 miles or so) and when I change it I fill to halfway between add and full as I discovered at my owning it at about 90K that If I filled it to the full mark, it would blow out the vent tube about a quart in the first 1500 miles and then very little blow out after that and would settle at about half way down the stick to add until I got to 5K and then I would add a quart to get back to half way up to the full mark and on to about 8 K for oil change and that would usually be good for a year or 14 months.
My 2016 Ram never goes down at all and I usually fill it to the half way mark as I have done for years and all is good.
I have a question here for my 2016, by the way I have always used Rotella T6 and in the 2016 I use 5W-40 T6 and am having a hard time finding it so if I cant find it before next spring when it is time for a change , I have 2 gal of 5W-40 T6 and 6 gal of 15W-40 T6 and thinking about the 2 gal of 5w-40) and 2.5 qt of 15W-40. Just wondering about this?? In my mind, I think it would not hurt anything.

Wouldnt hurt a thing I think My oil will never be over filled by 2 quarts again. Who ever (Indy) most likely will only get 2.5 gallons not three . That was my mistake giving my dealer 3.0 gallons for a free oil change. But they did get the gorilla factory applied filter off for the first time My truck will not be back to the dealer unless it’s warranty work or reflash issues or something my Indy can’t do

It takes 3 gallons to be full. Give them 2.5 and it will either be low or they will top it off with something else.

It has been my observations that most dealers have a non mechanic (newbie) doing the oil changes and minor service issues (air cleaners and tire pressure checks, wash bay and the like. Most of these new hires are trying to get their feet wet and start a career as auto / light truck mechanics with very little training to get this going. This is the reason I have in the past 40 years done my basic service work myself after having oil drain plugs stripped and filters not put on tight enough and came off and other issues that put me at the side of the road. If I do this work my self, I will not worry about these being done correctly! I worked my way through college working on the line as a mechanic for 7 or 8 years and have never quit doing that kind of work in my spare time.
