Mobil 1 Delvac is synthetic and I believe it is 5w40, Mobil Delvac 1300 is dino oil and I believe it is 15w40.

Go to mobil.com for compete details. If you want to study some good oil info go to noria.com and then check out forums.

Good Luck

From what I have seen of it the JD Plus 50 looks to be a pretty decent oil. I cannot say I have seen anything about it that makes it stand out from the major oil brands One thing to note though is that the JD Plus 50 is not API licensed. This may not be that big of a deal for some but then again it is a big deal for others.

There is a thread at noria.com that most of the posters claim that the JD 50 Plus is made by ESSO/Canada. Who knows this could be bad info as well.

One mechanic posted that he put the 50 Plus in an overhauled JD motor and it had oil consumtion problems. They resleeved it again, and used a different oil for break in, and switched back to the 50 Plus with no problems.

JD plus 50 & others

I talked to JD people at the Moultry, Ga. Farm Expo about their oil. They had comparisons

of pistons & rings that had seen nothing

but their plus 50 and a piston & rings

that had used Rotello 15/40. If you saw

the difference by comparing the two, you

would not use Rotello, ever again.

Their oil is made by their specs. and they

will not allow any other oil to be made by

those specs.

I have not used it in anything, however

when my free dealer changes run out in 2006 I am going to use Chevron Delo

400 15/40 or Texaco's Ursa 15/40. They

circulate faster, do not thicken as evidenced by a slight reduction in oil pressure compared to Rotello. Also you

never have to replace cam shafts

or crankshafts. The quicker the oil

circulates the better off you are. Engine

runs much cooler.

The Baldwin and Hastings are made on the same line.

DMC,

You are correct! Baldwin and Hastings are made by the same Company, and as I understand, there are only 3 oil filter companies in the US. Baldwin, Allied Signal, and Champion. Do you know of any others that I am not aware of?

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, but I thought you said they were made by "Clark" filter CO in your first post.

Best regards,

Wayne

How do you figure that Delo 400 and/or Texaco Ursa circulate faster and do not thicken as quick as the PB or Rotella? What test proves that?
