oil pan change

I bought a deep pan from mopar for my auto transmission it gives you a spacer to drop the filter lower. my questions is do I need this? with this on it seems to hit the bottom of the pan. I installed pan with out it and I think if I fill it to line on dip stick filter should get suction. has any one had this problem?

You do not need the spacer if you fill the pan to the level indicated on your factory dipstick. Mind if I ask what pan you bought?
