Has annyone changed out the gasket on the oil pan themselves, I have a leaking one and it is causing my clutch to slip... oil flows back into the bell housing via hole in the very bottom... a local mechanic quoted $700. 00 that seems high so if anyone has an easy fix or has changed the whole thing out let me know how it went...

well from what I have been told is the engine needs to be lifter up enough to drop the pan. . so that may be the high price... what I did on mine is cleaned up the pan pulled one bolt at a time and put on locktite my bolts dont stay tight which make it leak. re-torque yours see if this helps. . how is the oil getting to your clutch surface I know there is a breather opening but that seems like it would have to be leaking alot get moved back and then move up wards into the bell housing I would check bolts and if you could drop your transmission and check the clutch and plate... . and the inside of the housing and that will tell you how much oil is really getting in there.
