oil pan gasket

What is involved in changing the oil pan gasket?

Any suggestions. If its not to hard I will do it

myself. I hate having the stealer do it. 4x4 2000

29,000 miles its been like this since about 4500miles.

I think the engine has to be jacked up - not a minor fixer upper.

I can answer this one to a "T"... ... ... ... ... ... . just had mine done at the srewballs... ... ... . um, I mean dealers. The book gives 7 hours. Here is what they did:

-removed the trans, transfer case, etc. and flex plate.

- had to ift the passenger side of the engine 7" for the pan to clear the crossmember.

-installed gasket and sealant per TSB 09-006-01 .

-Put everything back together... ... ... well almost

and gave my truck back.



All in all, a very big job.



If you go to the dealers, double-check EVERY connection on your truck. They left one of mine dis-connected.

Anywho... ... ..... the gasket wasn't affected by any of the mods, therefore... ... ... ... ...
