I took my truck to W-world for an oil change and the plug leaks.

They tore the Geno`s heavy duty plug up. Removed it with a pair of vice grips.

W-W put a new gasket and plug on and the leak is still there, any suggestions besides stay away from W-W?

I will order the Geno`s super plug next,W-W will pay me after I get the parts :( :( :(

A new plug and gasket may not solve your leak.

Back in the days of erroneously published plug torque specs, the plug on my 96 was torqued to the point of distorting the area of the pan that the plug seats on. New plugs and gaskets would not seal it.

The solution was to add another washer between the stock washer and the pan. I use thin sheet cork and cut them out using the factory gasket as a template. I now torque to 25 ft/lbs and no leaks. You might give it a shot if your new plug doesn't solve the problem.

In my photo album I have pictures of an over-torqued drain plug.

If they overtorqued it then there is no fix only band-aid patches, the pan will leak. The only fix is to replace the pan. Go back and insist they make it stop leaking or pay for a new pan. You would win easily in small claims court if you took the plug with the vice-grip marks in as evidence of poor workmanship. Look at the pictures and you will see the problem caused by using "gorilla ft-lbs".

You guys always make my day.

I took the truck to a Texaco lube shop that does motor homes.

He found a burr on the pans flat surface. Removed the burr installed a new gasket and the leak stopped. Then the Texaco guy gave me an extra gasket, and did not charge me anything.

I ordered the Geno`s SUPER PLUG. Wally-W will give me the price I paid for a Geno`s plug after it is here. I have learned my lesson.

This is the second time that I have had problems with these W-W guys. They will never touch my truck AGAIN.

"?" Do any of you guys use Texaco oils?

What do you lube the chassie with?

Again thanks guys, ;)

The cans of whoopa$$ are holstered, for now

I paid $15 more per tire at a local tire dealer, than I would of at Wally World, so the W-W clowns would not touch my truck.
