Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) oil pres. not coming up fast enough

When you crank a cummins how long does it normaly take for the oil pres. to come up to normal. If too long could it hurt the motor? how to correct the stall of oil pres. when first cranked. Maby everybodys does hopefully its nothing to worry about thanks for all the help!

it takes mine about 5-10 seconds, its slow enough so the "check guages light" and dinger comes on. how long does it take yours?

Mine takes that long as well, just let it idle untill you have pressure mine also takes longer in the cold than when worm that is normal.

Mine takes 3 or 4 seconds, not long enough for any lights or buzzers, but I can hear a difference in the way she sounds when the gauge comes up to normal.

thanks just was stressing over nothing i guess cause mine takes about 3-6 secounds to come up as well i wish i could have a toggle to turn on the pump before starting :-laf
