I am a United states Marine stationed at a army base FT. leonardwood MO, so my choice is pretty much buying over the net. Looking for a Oil pressure Gauge. Geno's doesn't have them. Is it true the 3rd Gen dash gauge is not accurate? thanks for the Input out there.

I found an oil pressure gauge at dieselmanor.com and their prices are in line with Geno's. Diprocol and Autometer have them if you want them to match a boost and pyrometer gauge.

Thanks, I have Autometer ultra-lite white gauges boost and egt over the steering wheel. what I will be doing is putting this on the A-pillar.

I did the same as EBolgiano above - see my gallery for pics. I have the ISSPRO EV gauge with the electrical sender. It gives goofy readings when cold because I used about 4 feet or so of -4AN braided hose to the sender and I think it takes a while for the oil to thin out and get up to the sender. Other than that it is pretty responsive. The reason I used 4 feet of tubing (off the top of the oil filter adapter) was to tame down the pressure spikes so they wouldn't take out the sender.

I am going to replace the electrical gauge with a mechanical one as well as replace the -4AN and go -3AN into the cab. If you look at most mechanical oil pressure gauge kits they are 1/8" copper tubing with only compression fittings so I would say that the AN fittings will be pretty much leak free. I just like the simplicity and reliability so far of mechanical gauges.

And it's true the 3rd gen gauge is not accurate - it is just a switch that when it sees X oil pressure it gives a reading. Then the ECM controls the reading on the dash based on what DC believes the "customer expectations" to be.

Hope this helps!
