I installed an autometer oil press, pyro,& trans temp this afternoon. My oil press worked for about 4 hours and then died!! Has any one had problems with the sending units??

Few electric pressure senders stand up to the vibrations of this engine long term but 4 hours? I'd buy a grease gun hose and remote mount the sender if I were you.

I did install it on the firewall. I used a braided ss brake line. All my connections are good, that way i assumed it is the sending unit but i could be wrong. I would have no idea how test the gauge to see if it died!

As much as I like Isspro, I have had nothing but trouble with the oil pressure sending units. I'm on my 3rd one (all taken care of under warranty with no problems), and it does not work right. I have mine on a 3-ft isolator hose, so it's not the vibration that's killing them. Each one works fine for awhile, then gradually starts to give very erratic readings. JSteiger has experienced the same problem.

I suspect that the real problem is electrical noise, but I can't prove that. I've considered changing over to twisted/shielded pair for the sending unit-to-amplifier cable, but if it really were electrical noise I'd expect it to act weird from day 1.

I haven't changed out to a different gauge manufacturer yet for 2 reasons. First, I really like the Isspro gauges (ironically, this is because I perceive they have good quality... I'm so gullible  ). Second, I'm getting ready to change the sending unit location to the main oil rifle and I want to see if that makes any difference.

I put an Autometer oil pressure guage on my 97. The first one lasted a 1 1/2 weeks the second one made it a week. I've got 3 days on my third sender. Autometer is real good at replacing the senders and telling me that they DON'T have problems with them. I remote mounted this one like they said to. If it fails again in the junk can it goes. So send the Sender back and they will test it and send you a new one in about 7 to 10 days.

Cyberdyne Digitals

I like the Cyberdyne Digital gauges. They have adjustable high/low set points that cause the display to flash. I have had several for years with no issues so far except one that was defective when I opened it and was replaced under warranty. Available at Jeggs or Summit or J C Whitney. Ken Irwin

Is that the location of the factory pressure switch? Is it just a 1/8" NPT?

Thanks

it is in the same gallery as the stock switch. it is not a pipe thread. there are 4 ports on the left side of the engine. 2 small M10x1. 0 and 2 large M14x1. 5. the one large one is in use by the stock pressure switch. the other is blocked by a steel bracket. both of the small ones are accessable though, one above the ecm [where i have mine now] and one below the cp3 pump [where i wanted to put it, but my line was too large and it was touching the cp3. ] when i get my new mechanical pressure gauge for in cab mounting, i will relocate it with new hose to below the cp3. they are o-ring seal on these fittings
