saw there was a post on the faq's about oil pressure dropping to zero and the dummy light coming on and i have had it going on since i bought the truck last year i have changed the oil pressure sensor, and it is still doing it. i have also changed the oil filter bypass valve and installed a new oil pressure regulator spring. and my oil pressure is still dropping down to zero when i come to a stop. does any body have any idea's what it might be or has had this issue before and what fixed it.

Have you taken a good look at the oil pressure sender plug? You might have to cut it off to clean and inspect it. It will disassemble with a little patience.

On my rebuild the dash gauge would fluctuate and drop to zero while driving. Changing the sensor would help for about a day or so. I also did what Games mentions above, helped for about a day.

My solution was this, http://www.genosgarage.com/ISSPRO-EV-R17211-OIL-PRESSURE-GAUGE-0-100-PSI/productinfo/ISS-R17211/ Sucker saved me from having a stroke while driving and watching that dash gauge.

Now I do not even pay attention to the dash gauge. The Isspro says that on cold start I get to 75 psi and cruising I have 50 psi. While the dash gauge jumps, stutters, and drops to zero for miles at a time.

I also have an Isspro EV2 oil pressure gauge. I bought another sensor and harness for it and wired both sensors to a toggle switch. Now I can choose between oil pressure or fuel pressure and only had to buy one gauge.
