I had the machinist mic crank for bearing size and I plastic gauged both mains and rod journals, to be sure their in spec. I had two early 2004 complete Cummins motors I was working with, the original motor block had a couple of cylinders badly worn with a really nice rotating assembly, crank had no wear. The other Cummins was a low mileage motor that a oil change company left the oil filter loose and it dumped all the oil and spun half the rod bearings. That block and head were machined, head ported, the original motor crank and rods with new pistons/wrist pins were balanced. Both motors are 305 hp, built 11/2003 and 12/2003
Today that motor has about 100k miles, has no blow by, used a quart of oil at 6000 mile oil change. Oil used is rotella T6 15W40. It was on a Dyno with 4:10 gears pulled a 663 hp at rear wheels. Truck now has 3:73 gears
