Gentlemen

What in the heck is everyone doing for Oil pressure guage line? We have been haaving one failure after another. It seems that the line either splits or breaks completely off right at the fitting. We have used several different sizes to no avail. the sizes are 1/8, 3/16,and 1/4. Each one fails. That is not the worst part. The worst is the fact that we hae twice now sprayed the bottom of our truck with amsoil oil. At $125 a crack it is begenning to wear on our nerves. The tubing that we are using is Nylon 6 with abrass compression fitting in the top of the oil filter housing. I am thining about changing to 6' of braided stainless in order to get away from the intense heat then changing to the nylon to go to the guage. Please share your results with me.

Thanks

That would be a good idea.

IMO, plastic line is never any good under pressure, weather it be automotive or building.

Just a cheap quick install.

They shouldn't even include that plastic line with the gauge. That stuff is junk. Go to a braided line and run it all the way to the gauge if possible, or do as you you suggest and transition over to the plastic capillary line after you are inside the cab away from the heat and vibration. Autometer also makes a copper version of the capillary line that you could use, but I don't have any experience with that, so I don't know how durable/flexible that is.

Good Luck
