Sometimes when I start my truck, I have NO oil pressure for up to a minute. This has happened several times and when the pressure picks up, one can certainly hear the difference. I have never replaced the oil sensor BUT did install a mechanical oil pressure guage. Pressure registers on the mechanical about 3-5 seconds before the electronic guage. My truck has 112000 miles on it.

The pressure failure seems to be when you least expect it such as having been run all day and shutting off engine for 20-30 minutes and then restarting. I have NEVER had an oil pressure failure while actually driving the truck, just on startup. I did install an AMSOIL pre-oiler about a month ago. That was a waste.

Anyone replaced an oil pump?

Any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance.

Not sure whats up but my 98 24v stock gauge wont read for about 5 seconds on cold or warm starts. I would start with the gauge and work backwards but if you notice a difference in when the pressure registers then you have some problems. I would not even drive the truck until this problem is figured out or your looking at an overhaul :{
