Does anyone know what the thread size of the tapped hole for the oil pressure sending unit is?

I would like to plumb in a mechanical gauge to compare to the factory gauge, but I'd like to have everything ready to go the first time that I tear into it instead of having to make a bunch of trips to the parts store.

Any info would be appreciated.

The sender itself is 1/8" pipe. It sits, somewhat recessed between ribs cast into the side of the block. You need a deep socket to get it out. I would go with a ~1" nipple and a T. You can also tap the 1/8 pipe fitting on the top of the filter housing.

On edit. The sender is also 1/8 pipe.

Scot,

Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.

I'll look it over, but it sounds like it might be easier to tap the fitting on top of the oil filter housing. I'm all for making this as painless as possible.

Thanks again.
