The oil pressure gauge is reading intermittently, and the "ding" noise is driving me up the wall. I searched the back posts and found that people have been replacing the sending unit, and that it was much cheaper to get from Cummins than Dodge. I just got off the phone with Cummins, and now I am confused. They said that if it was their sending unit that was sensing the lack of pressure, the ECU would shut down the engine. Therefore, it must be a Dodge part that is the problem. The parts guy said that sometimes the dodge sensor is wired to read the signal from the Cummins unit. Any help is appreciated.....
