Has any one put an oil pressure guage on there engine using the tapped hole on top of the oil filter . My guage reads about 95 pounds cold and reved up at this point and about 50 with the indash guage. Should there be this much difference in pressure? Also 95 lbs is pretty high i think. Arnie

I have not put a pressure gauge there , but I have a temperature gauge hooked up there , along with the feed for my bypass filter.

The port on the filter housing reads the same as the block.

You're right 95 psi seems too high. One 24 valve member had the oil pump relief valve fail, the high pressure blew out the oil filter, lost all the oil and the engine with it. Better take care of it.

The relief valve is on the intake side of the filter. It's pretty easy to get at and check. Remove the nut head cap to the right (towards engine front) of the filter housing up against the block. The spring under the cap should be 66mm long when removed, if not replace it. Don't think you'll have much luck making it shorter.
