I have a 1996 2500 4x4 and thought my oil pressure gauge was reading a little lower than normal. I bought an aftermarket (From Advanced Auto) sending unit and after some trouble got the new one in place. Oil pressure now reads correctly but my oil pressure warning light flickered on and off occasionally. Thinking it might be the sensor I replaced it AGAIN and now it has gotten worse. The light flickers just about all the time now. I removed the female connector that plugs into the sending unit and carefully closed the contacts a little bit to make sure they fit snug. Still no luck. Any suggestions?? It seems to flicker when I hit bumps etc or travel over rough terrain. I either have a bad connection somewhere in one of the connections going to my instrument cluster or maybe a bad connection in the ribbon cable feeding my cluster. OR someone mentioned that the aftermarket sensor may be the problem? Any suggestions?
