This has happened 3 times now:

Oil changed, level is good. Everything is fine. Then after 1000 to 3000 miles, the pressure drops to zero when idling, and the dipstick now reads severely OVER full. No coolant in oil and amount of oil drained seems normal.

Repeat...

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If the crank case is overfull with the dip stick it must drain out the same amount. Sounds like fuel is getting into it and thinning out the oil, causing your low oil pressure. Can you list some truck specs? Sounds like you might have one or more injector O-rings leaking return fuel.

If it is a 12 valve the lift pump could be pushing fuel into the crank case.

All second gens are not the same. We don't have a clue what you drive and it does make a difference.

The truck is a 24 valve 1998, with the replacement lift pump. Thanks very much for the info about a possible fuel leak. It is going into the shop tomorrow and I will have that checked.
