Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Oil pressure

I have a 1995 3/4 ton diesel 12v with an auto transmission with about 133k miles on it. The problem I have been having lately is the oil pressure drops out after the engine oil warms up. When the truck is cold and first starts up the oil pressure will climb to over 40 psi and hold. When the engine warms up the pressure just bottoms out. The engine sounds normal and temp in normal. Is this an oil pressure switch problem or something else. :{

It sounds like your pressure sender, a fairly common problem. It's rare to actually lose the oil pump, never heard of it happening.

Mine is doing the same thing. . I am just too lazy to get the sender.
