The Oil Pressure On My New '06 Is Running Alittle Over 40 At Idle Hot. Dealer Says No Big Deal. This Is My 4th Cummins. ('95, '99, '04)

None Of Them Had More Than 20 At Idle Hot.

Any Comments On This?

Have you checked it with a real oil pressure gauge?

The one in the instrument cluster is fake. It's the ECM showing you what DC thinks you want to see.

My 04. 5 reads just under 40psi at idle and just over 40psi at cruise (OE Guage)... but it reality, it is around 25psi hot idle, 60psi at 2k RPM, and max's at 80psi cold based on an aftermarket guage. The OE guage also shows immediate oil pressure, which isn't the case at all.

And the others are correct, if you search you'll find an entire thread dedicated to proving the OE guage reading is generated by the ECM and it isn't real. IIRC, you can actually have 0psi for upwards of 3 minutes before the warning chime will activate.
