Coolant leaking when block plugged in

I have a mechanical gauge on the hose between the filter head and my bypass... it takes less than 15 seconds to prime even on the coldest morning. 85psi cold is about right... it should settle down to around 25psi hot idle and 60psi hot cruise.



I agree, and I'll add that I see this behavior even if the engine sits for weeks without being started.

I just fired my truck up after sitting for 6 weeks and had oil pressure in about 3-4 seconds after startup. My psi sender is on the side of the block above the ECM so I only see about 70 psi cold idle, and it will max about 80 - 85 psi cold when driving.
