What is the normal oil pressure on the Cummins T/D, I have the stock gauge and it stays between the 40-60 lb. range, is this normal? I have a 96' ext. cab with 156,000 on my stock motor.
There can be variations between trucks. Yours sounds normal. As long as it stays between the upper and lower marks in the "safe" range you are OK. Mine usually runs slightly above the 40 mark when cruising down the road. It's lower than it was with my previous pressure sender so that is another variable. These gauges are not super accurate and are meant as indicators. To see actual pressure you need to hook up a mechanical gauge but in your case it sounds fine and should not be a concern.
