Removed Airfilter and inlet hose to turbo yesterday while changing out my front shocks... ... I found oil residue inside the turbo housing... . It wasn't on the blades though. Is there some kind of internal seal that seperates the lubrication for the turbo bearings without letting it leak out into the housing?

Nevermind... ... ... From the research I have found it looks like that is is deemed normal after awhile... ... ... . is this correct?

Sled Puller..... You said most times from running wide open and blowing a boot... ..... Well that counts me out... ... I never run wide open... ... ... ... I baby the truck pretty much... I tow for a living and am very careful trying to make my transmission last as long as I can... . Any other I deas... Are the thrust bearing and washer items I can replace..... or does it require special tooling... . How about a price on those two parts, any idea?

I downloaded the full service/repair manual from the Holset website a while back but I can't find the link. It's like the Holset website just disappeared  I can Email the zip file if anyone needs it.

I am guessing the rebuild of the 12v vs. the 24v turbo's are the same????

John... . If you could e-mail me the zip file that would be great... . Where do you get parts locally? Local cummins dealer maybe???

Thanks,

Jason

Hey Cummins

Here is the link to the Holset page. Just go to "parts and service" and pick your turbo, which I believe is the HX35W and download the whole repair manual. I looked at mine and it is pretty informative.
