Well I was able to repair a leaky vacuum pump shaft seal by replacing the seal. The real PIA of this job was getting the pump out of the truck becuase it is not easy to get to unless you take a lot of other stuff off to get at it. A lot of work for a $4 seal. I got the seal at a local distributor in Fort Worth, if anyone wants specifics PM me and I will be glad to send them along.
I used a socket set as to tap out the pressed together parts of the pump as mentioned earlier in another post in this thread. It worked great and and I was able to get it apart and put back together in about 30 mins. Make sure you get all the parts back in the right order. If you forget the 'X' plate in the middle when reassembling it then it will be really hard to get the other collar out to put it in again.
