I just changed my oil cooler on my 98 12v due to oil getting in my cooling system i put a used cooler in. Also noticed that my engine oil was way down is it possilbe that the cooler is NFG? and still leaking by idle it runs 20-30 psi oil pressure. Running down the high way no load 120 kms runs about 70ish? Also over heats and oil pressure sending unit bounches off zero. And its been about a week since i changed it.

i just did my head gasket last week..... keep an eye out for coolant in the oil, bearings don't like water. the oil will be a milky color, it could take a motor out pretty quick.

YA theres no water in my oil i got about 1000 km after changing the cooler then it over heated a crap load of oil in the rad and cooling system but still none in the engine oil still clean but way down going to tackel the head gasket tomorrow night. Which is the best stuff to remove the oil out of the cooling system.

My friend had this same problem. After replacing the head gasket and oil cooler, he found out he had a bad block. There was an internal crack which ran from the water jacket to a spot that had oil pressure. Since the oil pressure was always greater, he was getting tons of oil in the radiator.

just keep an eye out, i pulled the dipstick and it showed nothing until i pulled the drain plug and out it came, about 2 liters of coolant.

as far as flushing the system i am still trying to get it all out..... it made a mess, and i am using coolant flush and water, you will need to do it a few times to get all out.

Yes use dishwasher soap, It is made to cut oil and doesnt foam, We use this in the semi trucks when oil gets into the cooling system. You might have to do it acouple of times and them flush with water a couple of times.

Yes use Dishwasher soap, premix it in a pail of warm water first then pour it in the rad. Let it circulate for a while and then do it again. Then flush everything out with water.

going to do that today and this evening i have a mechanic coming over to replace the headgasket cheep insurance to make sure that wasent the problem.
