oil vapor smell

1996 4x4 with auto. trans. no modifications.

when i park truck and shut off engine i am getting

a strong oil vapor smell.

there are no visible oil leaks on engine.

it has just started recently.

110000 mi.

If you just recently chainged the oil, it is probably normal. I used to notice the "new oil smell" when I'd climb out of the truck for the first few hundred miles.



What kind of oil are you running? Some smell more than others.



If not a fresh oil change, make sure the road draft tube is still in place on the driver side on the engine.
