Since oil is such a sensitive topic I don't want to hear about any particular brands! However,I would like to here everyone's experience's with the different weight synthetic oils for the Dana 80 LSD differential.
Specifically the GL-5, 75w-90 vs the 75w-140.

My owners manual states:
75w-90 is for below -10DegF temps.
80w-140 is for all temps.

Addendum to owner's manual states:
If u pull for a significant # of miles, to reduce overheating use 75w-140 synthetic.

My Dodge Manual only states to use 90w Gl-5.
From reading this forum I know ALOT of people are using the 75w-90,but I have no idea what percentage use it & under what conditions and/or if anyone has experienced any heat related problems dependant upon outside temperature & load pulled. I pull aprox 6-8000lbs in the Rky Mtns w/ a soon to be BOMB'ed motor. Installing Mag-Hytec next week. Thanks for keepin it CLEAN!
