On my 09, I've changed the oil twice so far. Now at 16K+. The EVIC oil change notice has never come on.

on my 2010. I had 4700 miles on it with no oil x light. this was with 1600 miles towing my 5ver. I changed it at 4700 because I didnt go over 5k miles when I had my ford, and i was on vacation and didnt want to have to change it in the middle of nowhere.

my truck now has 7700 miles on it withe 2500 towing. the light still hasent come on. I 'm going to wait and see this time.

I do live in a rural area so it sees alot of highway, I figure that is helping alot.

on the subject of oil - where can i get the adaptor for the block to put in an aditional fittings = for extra idiot pressure lights and a bypass filter fitting ? its machined w/ a groove w/ an 'o' ring in it on drivers side of engine ? thanks

If you're running short trips in cold weather, it may need changing at 2k. If you're pulling a trailer 12 hours a day, day after day, the oil may be good at 20k. Condensation in cold weather is an engine killer.

There is no rime or reason to what my 2009 does it will sometimes go past 5000 miles and sometimes not make it to the 2000 mile mark under the exact same conditions.

I work for a utility company with a large fleet of vehicals and all light duty trucks go 5000 miles on an oil change and the fleet managers dont care what the computer says. These trucks Idle all the time, running a pto or just charging batteries for inverter power. The old trucks did fine and the new ones ,had better do the same.

I idle my 2009 with AC on for extended times and I have had to have the system cleaned 1 time. But what the heck I bought it to use and it better be able to do that, and take care of its self or it wasn't worth the 50k I paid for it. The last 2 trucks I had worked fine.

X2!!!. . Don't gimme crap saying I cant idle a diesel engine, engineers should have thought of that when they designed it!!!

the air pollution crap is very heavy retarded timing ,especially at idle !maybe you can talk to your dealer n see if they can put your cold idle -run on three cylinders to put more fuel in the cyl that r burning to have less carbon soot residue ? just a thought ! ,

My oil change summary goes like this... .

3000 miles first oil change. Delo 400LE with Fleetguard filter

6000 miles second oil change. Delo 400LE with Fleetguard filter.

9000 miles third oil change. Delo 400LE with Fleetguard filter.

9000 miles fuel filter change.

Oil light came on at 3900 miles and has not came on since.
