Would it be possible and how much cheeper would it be to purchase say a barrel or 1/2 barrel of a good synthetic oil, being the truck takes 4gal. each car 1+gal X 5 brothers 1 sister etc.

Freddbull, It looks like you would save about $. 46/quart by going with a 30 gallon barrel and $. 71/quart with a 55 gallon barrel, as opposed to 4 gallon case... If you would like more info, contact me.

I don't think I'd use the same type of oil in a diesel and a gasser. Something to consider.

I've been running the Amsoil 15-40 HD marine oil for years in my Cummins & Chevy 350 gassers with no problems at all.

True, and one thing to consider. If you have 4 gals for the truck I would hope one is an extra gal. My 96 only takes 3.
