I just purchased an Oilguard oil return cap and thought i would post a couple pics. I'm not sure if anyone else has this, but for those interested, it cost $35 plus shipping. It's a pretty nice anodized aluminum cap with a swivel fitting. i'm not affiliated with Oilguard, just another happy customer. it's kind of funny, a couple days after i ordered it, the lady there called me up asking me where i heard of their products because after i ordered mine, she got a whole bunch of orders for the same thing, for a CTD. Just my luck, i probably missed a group buy or something, lol.

Yes it is billet but they don't have any pics on their site. i actually called the guy looking for some other fittings for the port in the lower right part of the block. he said at this time, all they have is red. i wanted blue but the red is nice. mine was on back order so hopefully they get them stocked back up. Oo.

That cap looks like it would make it easy to add another breather for the crank case. I rebuilt the seals on my vacume pump about 30,000 miles back and see signs of oil again. Anyone try this yet?

Rock-N-Rammer, yes this is an oil return for an oil bypass system. the 90 degree fitting turns inside the larger round brass fitting. it turns a bit stiff, but shouldn't be a problem since you don't want it too loose under the hood. the 90 degree fitting is held into the bigger round fitting with a circlip. i will be installing the system today if i have long enough hoses. Oo. :D

Thread size

Anyone know what size the threaded taper fitting that the return line would be attached to is? I have an Amsoil system that returns to the filler cap, but it was a filler cap that I made myself ie: works, but is not pretty. I like the looks of this cap and wonder if it would work with the set up I have now.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

well i finally got my Oilguard system installed today. it took a few hours but i like to take my time and make sure everything is good to go. system works like a charm!! the hardest part was putting the push-loc fittings on the hose. i also used Loctite 545 thread sealant on the pipe threads. Oo. :D :D

Ok... where's that cap on oilguards web-page. I just don't see it.

Here is the one from amsoil mounted in an aftermarket cap. Cost is around $8. 00 for the cap, and the "Swivel Fitting" came from Amsoil Inc. $8. 50.

Not quite as pretty but very functional.

Yeah wayne, thats what I have also, but made with a stock DC cap( I think it was you that I got the instructions from) and I have not had any problems with it, but I like the look of the anodized billet aluminum. Was kinda looking for a X-mas present for myself, if you know what I mean LOL.

Thanks

These people are... . retarded. After doing a search for an oil return cap and finding this thread I call them. The guy asks when I bought one of their kits, I told him I dont have one of their kits. He goes on to EXPLAIN to me how to make a regular one from NAPA and says he doesnt really sell the caps to people who dont buy their kit.

He says it makes it "easier" for people who dont buy their kits to do the same thing with "another" suppliers product and ask me if I understood. I told him he just got done telling me how to make one, that there are others on the market and all I understand is he seems to have a decent product and is screwing himself out of business... have a nice day click

P. S. I see Amsoil has billet return caps now, do they actually want to sell theirs or do they go under the same philosophy as above?

I got my Billet cap from Amsoil all by itself. I do have an amsoil bypass but I got that 5 years ago and the cap about the time the thread originally went up. Mine is anodized Blue.

They should sell u just the cap.

Hope this helps,

Yes, you can buy just the cap from Amsoil Inc. Contact them and ask for a BMK-1301, which is an Aluminum Billet fill cap (blue in color) You would also order a BP-242, which is a 90 degree JIC elbow if you so desire.
