Thanks, TDR Staff

I have to bring this up again, oil drain plugs.

I used the self tapping fitting

I started a hole in the oil return line for the turbo with a sharp punch on the end of an air hammer,be gentle you dont want to crush the pipe ,then I threaded the self tapping fitting in with a little silicon sealer. No leaks works great. Merv

My return is tapped into the rear surface of the oil fill tube, just below the fill cap. I used the self tapping piece from Amsoil.

This way, I can remove the fill cap and check bypass flow. No need to replace until it's used up. For oil samples, I remove the braided line from the self tapping fitting and hold it over the fill hole. I have my wife start the engine and let it run a little bit to be sure to get a good sample, fill the sample bottle, hold the return line over the fill tube and giver her a nod to shut down the truck.
