i needed to replace the oil pressure sensor on my 99 24valve so i purchased one at the cummins dealer. when igot home i found that the connections were different. also the paperwork indicated a need to recalibration of the ecm. also the instructions show a single wire that must be connected to the deutsch oem connector. im lost. i thought changing a sensor would be simple but not so. has anyone had this problem. thanks

Replaced mine about a year ago. Cummins told me there were two sensors available. One had to have the ECM flashed and a new wiring harness. The other was the standard for the '99. After a 45 minute chat with the service manager and two parts guys, I got the standard, but I'll be darned if I can remember the number.

you got the wrong part, let me guess, it is an aluminum colored base, with a black connector? Only hase one pin on the plug as well? I had to replace mine last spring. I got this part originally, it was wrong, I then pulled the existing one out and brought that to cummins, they ran a cross referance on the number on that OEM plug and got me the right part, it should have a brass/copper base with a white/tan colored plug on it.

i would like to thank all of you guys for the responses. a special thanks to big barney for the part#. alpha cowboy,if i ever need a flat changed i will call you.

:-laf I dont know how to take that... if you are saying thanks, or thanks alot. . :-laf I would have dug out the number, but I have no idea where I put the paperwork for it. :D

i checked your profile and saw the picture of you holding up the dodge and i figured if you were that strong you could change a flat with no problem. thanks again,i just got off the phone with cummins and i will have the part tomorrow. later

I'm not sure where you guys are calling? I tried to navigate the Cummins web site and came up with a list of local truck shops. I called one and gave them the 4088390NX part number and they told me its not available. He said the new number is 4921511 which I don't see referenced anywhere on this site. Can anyone give me a tip on who to call in the Boston area to get a sending unit for my 2000 model?
