 A nasty oil leak just developed on my brother's truck. It's -20 C up here now so it's a pain in the butt. Everything on the driver's side of the engine and the bottom is covered in oil. He figures it must be the pan gasket but is not entirely sure. To cold to wash off and check it out. What could be the problem? The truck has almost 400,000 kms on it. One funny thing though was he was at the drilling rig that he was hauling water to at the time when the breaker blew that his truck was pugged into. The ole dodge fired right up where a righand's z71 was having trouble (6. 5l diesel or 350 not sure). Oh well he just bought a 2001 ctd w/ edge ez, 4" exhaust and bd brake before xmas so he can drive it now.

Could also check the oil line running to the vac pump. It is a small braided steel line.

Also make sure it is not power steering leaking instead.
