Fuel mileage question

Hey well I finally made another step my freind Blackdog finally pushed me over the edge I getting left behind his 24 valve and I'm not gonna stand for it!!... LOL. . So how hard the is the injector install? And, do all 94 have the low rpm stumble or just some? Mine as it runs now is very very snappy compared to other 94's and 95's and very snappy compared to the 96's and 97's with the larger cam in the pump. I did go with the Diamond B's and I was told by Doug up at Dave Mitchell's place just to do the injectors first and then proceed with what needed done. Does that sound good to you guys. Right now the truck has a Big cam plate, HX35 and a 16cm, and a few other mods that Dave has told me to do. The truck as it stands now will do about 38 to 39 psi and bury the the pryo if I stay in it. It seems the truck is running out of fuel at around 3200 + and that is where I am coming into the heat problem. Will the 370's help? do they have a better spray pattern? How many spray holes are there compared to the 175's? What should I look for if my truck is doing what it is already on the guages?? Well thanks a whole bunch everybody in advance you've always helped before! Be Good. Ryan

Smokin:

You may need delivery valves as well to allow the injectors to work in better harmony with the pump.

Are you running 15. 5 degrees of time/ (Pumps mods... )

I might spend some $$ on the HX 40 fast to cool the egt's.

Sounds like your on the right track for some add'l smoke and ponies.

Have fun and don't over egt your poor "sickly" ram, to steal a Dr. Donnellyism.

Andy, Thanks for the reply, I was looking into getting the delivery valves which I know I will need, I was just holding out to see how big of a set of delivery valves I will need. I am thinking of running more like 18 degrees in timing? I know many, many people look down upon that in here, but, I have been told from many of the people in the area that they run well there. We do quite a bit of sled pulling in our area, you only have to if Dave Mitchell and Van Haisley are within an hour and a half from the house!! You can see some of our pulling pictures on Local and Regional events dicussion forum under truck pull pics!! I hope to see some of you out at MUNCIE, INDIANA for the meet up at Dave's Diesel!! Well I'm hoping to get these injectors in before the truck show up in Lima, Ohio. I have to go pick them up tommorrow. I will post results without Delivery Valves for now. I would still like tech info if anyone has any? Be Good, blow smoke!!

LMAO... like Smokin Cummins said, I've been on him to put them in for quite some time now. I think the early pullin season has finally got him in the mood, it's a bout time don't you guys think??. Take Care!

Larry, Thanks for the reply, I have a RE-0880 on the way right as we speak. My exhaust as it is said in my sig, is straight no cat no resonator. I installed the 370's today!! I haven't gotten to drive the truck probably 10 miles now but it seems very responsive, and makes my 16cm housing scream! I like them so far, but, it has a tiny shudder at low rpm, I'm thinking that it could be from the small delivery valves. And Larry my timing is still stock, so I can cool it down that way too. Thanks for the replies you guys. Be good.

If you are overtemp on EGT now, the 370s will only add to the problem by adding fuel to the fire #ad
You need more air first. I see no intake or exhaust mods in your sig so I'd say you need a K&N 0880 and 4" exhaust at least. With the kind of fuel you'll get with 370s you may need an HX40 also. This should push you over the stock clutch holding capacity too(if you have a 5sp). one thing leads to three others. #ad

My free advice is worth every penny #ad

I've got a friend with a 12V that wants some 370's. Where is the best place to get them and about how much are they?

Have you test the fuel pressure after the filter? You may not be getting enough fuel to the injector pump to feed the 370's. You need all three-exhaust-fuel and air to make the cummins work.

fuel pressure should be around 20psi @ idle & 30-35 @ 2000 rpm. (after the filter) #ad
