Now let me see, if I am not mistaken snow is the white stuff you see on TV that just sits on the ground. Now I remember,it was on the weather channel the other day.

Normally I love the white stuff.

I enjoy doing the snowmobile thing and using my Cummins to extract the underpowered from unplanned voyages into the white stuff.

This year as of today we are now #2 for the most snow in a winter in recorded history in Vermont. We expect snow a few more times in the coming week.

EVEN NOW, I can sit on my porch roof and my ankles are under the snow in the yard. I've created a snow staircase at the back door so my wife can climb out of the house. My dogs stand outside the bay window and look down at us. My hybrids can walk over their enclosure's 6' fence (and have). I worry about hitting the hidden bird feeders with my snowmobile. The top of the door to my horse's stall is at my chest... etc etc

Last winter we had a blizzard on 4/10 that had me plowing my road for about 10 miles with my front axle as the town had retired the plows. . #ad

from here, I say GLOBAL WARMING my @$$

Would I trade this and move back to corporate america?? NEVER!

We got about 4 in AGAIN last nite. #ad

But the sun today evaporated it down to bare ground #ad

David, it hard to believe that where I live in WA is much further north than you, snow's been gone for three weeks, 65° today. Saw some pictures on the news where they were loading up sheep with hoof& mouth, the snow was waist high, think it was VT or NH.

The weather is all messed up, meteorologists were freaking a couple of weeks ago, the highest high pressure area ever recorded occurred over the Arctic then, it was a little over 32 inches, which is really high. We've been getting the Northern Lights here in WA more in the last two weeks than the total of what I've seen in my life here. The climate is changing and I personally feel that humans have little or nothing to do with it, change is the only constant. I was sort of hoping the greenhouse effect would save us from the ice age, no such luck.

Lets see, I was on the Jetski a few times last week, and on Tuesday, I will spend the day on Lake Conroe. Texas winters are great!

This winter has been a lot colder than the last few. I didnt get to hit the lake at all in Jan or Feb #ad

The amount of snow fall and frequency here has not been nothing I could not live with. The wind however has been particularly relentless this year. Like' to blow me away. Only good thing about it is the ground dries off quickly.

Know what you mean Dave_VT! This winter seems to drag on and on! We've only got about a foot of snow left... but it's been here since December! Where's those 40°'s and 50°'s they been promising us since last week?? We got off easy today-all rain-(barely 30°)! Probably safe to say that all this has turned to snow by the time it reached you. Oh well, we'll be swatin' misquito's and May flies soon enough!

David... this may sound insane, but I think you're lucky. I miss New England winters like you read about. I'm on the wet side of WA thanks to the Navy for a little while longer yet.

Oh, by the way, you still have a way to go to get the #1 amount of snowfall in a season. You may get it for VT but 2 years ago out here, Mt Baker (about a 2. 5-3 hour drive from me, about 40-50 miles as the crow flies) recorded the most snowfall in a single season of anywhere on earth ever! We got 1140 inches of snow that year and the were unable to open the road to the top and it's associated hiking areas all summer! Enjoy it while you can - there are those of us that wish we could!

I feel for you man, but it was 65 degrees here today, the weeds are starting to grow, I'm getting ready to put the finish mower back on the tractor, and get the Harley out next week for a little spin. I love the scenery and mountains up North, but don't think I could take all that cold weather during the winter. The winter here seems too long for me, so don't think I could take the length of yours. Hang in there, spring is coming!

I left Puyallup WA two years ago 4/21. We had great Northern lights somewhere in Montana on that trip. I did not mind the mild rain and milder snow. That Volcano in the back yard kept me on my toes, but she sure was something to look at!!

A funny story: A local Polaris dealer has sold out has sleds (first time in years) and now needs to start moving lawn equipment. No time soon!!

Still snowing... . #ad

Look honey, more snow.....

Now I think summer will be between 11am and 1pm on that wednesday... #ad

We still have a couple feet of ice on the lakes yet. About a foot or more of snow cover. But that still don't get in the way of the motorcycleists.

SNOW???
THe old timers around here claim it snowed in 1981; but then you know how old timers love to stretch a story.
But if you want to talk about WIND, I can get into the talk----My 40 X 60 shop has 14' doors facing south and east. Feb. before last a gust of wind laid the south facing door in on the floor of the shop and took the east facing door outside.

I think summer will be on a wednesday this year. #ad

Just look up zip 05873 if you want to laugh!

When I went to Boston once in late April one year I was amazed at how far behind spring was there, nothing was blooming out yet at all! Here in SE Washington I think we are a bit further north than Vermont, about equiv. to central Maine. Trees starting blooming with leaves and flowers about the second week of March. I've mowed the lawn once already and it needs it again. Been in the 60s pretty much daily for the last 2 weeks, a couple days below 60 & a couple above 70. Started using the window shade too so the cab doesn't get too hot sitting outside during the day.

Umm... 78* today. The only white stuff that falls from the sky around here comes out of a bird. #ad
