I might also add - PLease look at this especially the Fuel Management system - and Thank God you didn't buy one of these!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Remember - there is no Injector pump with thses Fords - only a high pressure oil pump that activates the injectors - that's why even if designed properly there is a design problem as engine oil was never designed to also be hydraulic oil - it's asking to much IMO! And if you check with the Ford guys you see that changing the oil type and frequency - changes the way the truck performs - as it is directly related to the operation of the injectors!

That is why caterpillar is no longer using the Huey system. To much problems.

?? Really? What are they using instead? I thought Cat was hook-line-and-sinker for the HEUI system?

Me too! As far as I know the C7, C9, 3408E, 3412E and a few other Cat engines are still HEUI.

I was wandering how so many had the problem of fuel in the oil, now I know. Not sure of all the advantages of this new system, but the complexity of it seems to be out weighing the benefits. Kind of like the rotary engine in the 70's, materials and compounds lagged the technology at the time. I know someone spent many hours and large amounts of money to develop this fuel management system on the 6. 0L, I just hope it pans out and becomes more reliable.

Thats what the parts man told me was no more Huey after next year!If they had their own stand alone oil system they wouldnt be too bad. We go through 1 pump and 2 sets of injectors a year on the norm,On our 988F's.

electronic unit injectors are the way to go i think. similar performance qualities as hpcr, but much simpler. pump and electronics all in the injector, and costs about the same as a hpcr injector which needs a stand alone hp pump. the heui system works pretty well when the rpm is liimited to what it was designed to do [2500 governed] but now fraud wants their 6. 0 spinning 4k rpm, the system is way stressed at that point
