What kind of work does everyone do???

CB recommendations for $150?

Well I slipped today and bought a Ferd but only with good intentions... . to install a 12 Valve Cummins. I was driving along over in WI and seen this truck sitting for sale and decided right then and there I needed that baby for a conversion. Its a 1990 F-350 crew cab longbox XLT with the 7. 3 and a 5 speed 4x4. I knocked at the door and these 2 girls come out with all the cowgirl giddy up on and start bragging about what a wonderful truck it is and how they have soooo many fond memories in it... blah blah blah. They then show me stacks and stacks of repair bills with many big numbers on them so I start thinking this truck has been well maintained in its 195,xxx miles and woman driven too. It shows good care too with only a few rust spots on the box sides and the rest of the truck looking as good as most Ferds do. Of course the frame looks like new since they told me it has leaked fuel out of the front tank for the last 50,000 miles. Well you guys get the picture... . now comes the question..... WHO IS GOING TO HELP CONVERT THIS THING? I made a phone call when I got home and acquired a 1993 Dodge truck with a Cummins for just a few hundred bucks but its a 2 wheeler so I want to make it work with the Ferd transmission. I really want to get this done fast so I can slap some big @ss Cummins chrome stickers down both sides of this honker to really **** those power jokers off. Any takers?

Takers? My trucks down more than up and your finding a First Gen for a few hundred bucks..... Man... I just wish I had a truck to drive... . I'm almost ready to find a beater gasser to drive... .

On the other side... if I was closer I'd be more than happy to help with the swap!

Heres a picture of the beast. Josh, I'll supply all the food and beer you can drink if you come down some weekend to help and I will even let you take it home for a week if you help, so I can rest assured its broke in right. LOL

 If it's like some of the women I know, that isn't a selling point!! :-laf

"My brakes don't work too well?"

"When's the last time you checked your brake fluid?"

"What's brake fluid?"

That's actually a pretty good lookin truck Chris! To bad it isn't a dually!

I'll have to see what I can do as far as getting down there goes. Right now I've got a couple projects going on myself. The engine has to come out of my truck and be assessed for damage... I have a 289 I'm rebuilding for a friend for his 65 Mustang, and possibly a couple trannies.

Josh, I'm offended that you think I need training wheels! I wouldn't have bought it if it had them. Besides the dually fenders would clash bad with the huge chrome Cummins decals Im gonna put down each side of the truck when its done. :D

I thought training wheels were standard on Fords!

Hey Matt, Exactly how much is that gonna cost me? Im open for ideas but I really just want the International engine gone.

Chris

Woman driver," My mini van quit running, I think it may be the oil. "

Helpful passerby Sled," Why do you think that?"

WD," Because that redlight on the dash that says oil has been on for the last 10 miles. "

Ohhhhh! :-laf

I don't know if Josh is a good idea for help, given the PARKED record of his truck!!!

Hey I'm good at working on them, just don't let me drive it. That's when stuff gets broken! :-laf

The engine removal has begun on mine... . I just need to find a proper cherry picker now... . A solid half a saturday and it would be out.

Right now it's still moveable. I have the intercooler, radiator, A/C etc all off of it.

I'm just afraid to see what I find when I get it appart! If it's like the 289 I just pulled down, I'm gonna :{ . (#1 rod spun there is a solid 1/8 if not deeper groove where the journal is supposed to be)

Hell with the truck, how bout some pictures of the "Cowgirls". :-laf

Chris, the old girl don't look to bad. I can tell you though, that the turning radius sucks on the old Fords. I'd come help, but I can't get all my junk done either. :{
