I wouldn't mind a new BMW R1150GS

Here! Here! I would love one of them as well. I used to own a 88 R100GS up until last spring when I sold it. I wasn't using it very much any more and figured I would let somone else have fun with it for a while. I would like to get a new modern 1150GS someday.

First car was a 61 Kharman Ghia. Plus side was the girls really liked this car (maybe because it had no back seat). Minus side was the engine blew, but I ended up learning most of my mechanical skills working on that car. I could remove or install the engine in about 15 minutes.

Car #2 was a 65 Plymouth Valiant. Good car.

Car#3 was a 70 GMC Suburban. Excellent except for gas mileage (12mpg in all conditions).

Car #4 was a 78 Chev Blazer. Very good. Drove this truck all over Puerto Rico, St. Croix, and St. Thomas.

Car #5 is a 93 Toyota Tercel. Best car I've owned. No recalls and only about $100 in unusual maintence during it's first 100,000 miles. Get between 35 and 40mpg.

Car #6 in a 95 Diesel Ram. Worse car I've ever owned. Cost 3 times more than any other car I've owned. Has been recalled half a dozen times. Has numerous chronic problems (track bar, fuel sender, steering problems, etc... ). However the good points of this truck continue to outweigh the flaws...

1981 Z28 cammaro. . bought it a few months old and got rid of it after 5 months. All stock 350 ,4brl, dual exhaust, ram air etc. what a junk box it was loud in the rain, sat to low, noisy exhaust just a poor design in general. traded for a f150 that was ok. But I love my cummins dodge. They will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.

Car #1- 93 Chevy 1500 5spd. 350. 107k miles only problem was an a/c leak.

Car #2- 76 Dodge power wagon. Bought it for $2,000 put about $8,000 in it and sold it 5,000 miles later for $6,000. I spent more hours working on that truck than I have spent driving in my life. For some reason I still miss it though.

Car #3 2000 Dodge 2500. in 105,000 miles so far a track bar, lift pump, 5 sets of front brake pads, (next week: new pads and shoes, fuel pressure guage, and maybe another lift pump) one pinion seal, and 6 u-joints. Not sure why this is my favorite truck though.

That was Toyota's attitude (corproate, we got your money now get lost) I also learned that Toyota wont send out "are you happy" letters if you are having trouble with your vehicle  great way to improvise your CSI

BMW R-1150 = :D :D

Toyota = :{ :{ :-{} :( = trade for Dodge Dakota = :D for 195k miles and still going

1 st truck = 73 chevy 1500 2wd. bombed 350. thought it was quick. got a bunch of speeding tickets. bought 2nd truck

2 nd truck = 95 dodge 2500 rc 4x4 auto 3. 54's slt. bought a diesel cause they were slow. (lmao)

3 rd truck = 01. 5 dodge 2500 qc 4x4 6spd 4. 10's slt. fell in love with the cummins. after 5. 5 years of owning cummins powered trucks. i now know that they are not slow.

moral of this little story is i could have bought a huge house for the money that i have / had in trucks one and two. but, i am still young and man i have had fun in all of these trucks.

now on to the truck that i hate. it's my company work truck.

it's a nissan / united diesel 1200 series 14' box truck. it is so freaking slow. takes about 35- 40 seconds to get it up to 60 mph. no kidding. will run 80 mph down a hill but on average highway will maintain about 68- 72 mph. at least i get paid by the hour. lol. later ya'll, nick

My worst is also my favorite... ... It was a '97 Chevy 3500 as long & as loaded as they come. It was started before Chevy had a huge strike at their truck plant & sat through 3 months before the strike was over. Well, out it went... . right to me!! 16,000 miles later, 63 days in the shop, 3 new computers, 3 new driver's seats, 2 new rear ends, 5 new power steering pumps, 2 engine fires (wiring/computer & had to be towed both times), a rear main seal that spewed soo much oil (or as Chevy said, "Within acceptable limits") & sooo much hell with the many different dealers I went to. I had to battle & battle, hire an attorney, & sit through many meetings to plead my case on this LEMON of a truck..... all while driving a Neon!! <~~~Never give me a Neon & tell me too bad, find another way to get lumber to the Jobs!! heheheeee

Well, after it all, I got my money back (ya baby!!) & vowed never to purchase through GM again!! I decided to go with the Dodge. I did not like the 454 that my truck had in it, so I also decided to try the Loud Clanky Diesel!! well... love at first ignition.

Soooo Thanks Chevy for opening my eyes to the Dodge Family!!

The bigest P. O. S I ever had was a 1998 Ford F-150 Flareside,it was an awesome looking truck in all black and dual exhaust strait out the back, but what a piece of junk, in 3 months of owning this thing I had to

Rebuild rear diff because one of the shims for the carrier bearings broke and took out all the bearings,

When started in temps under 50 degrees F it rattled louder than my Cummins

The trans started slipping and hunting for gears

and finally the factory 6 disk CD changer quit working all together.

This pickup only had 67000 miles and it was junk. When the CD changer quit I was on my way to go shopping with the wife,I was totally POed and told her thats it,and traded it off on my current truck.

Worst car I ever owned has gotta be that Orange 1971 MGB GT.

I shiver thinking about it to this day!

Every month I owned that car SOMETHING worth $100 broke on it.

British Engineering at it's Most Excrutiating Worst!

To give you an idea of how stupidly it was engineered: It had a heater valve so you could shut off the flow of hot water into the heater in hot months. Thoughtful you think? Of all the places where it could be placed, the ba$tards installed it on the engine block, directly above the Distributor. EVERY time it leaked it would short out the distributor!

Time to walk!

Sometimes it just would decide to quit running. Oh there would be NO reason why it stopped running--everything would check out ok--it just didn't want to run that day! Time to walk!

The Intake Manifold had a rubber plug situated in a HIDDEN place. One day the engine backfired and blew that plug out. It took a week of mechanics looking for the problem before THAT one was found! (Why in the #(&% have a rubber plug in an intake manifold?? As I said... British Engineering!

One day with about 70,000 miles on her, I pulled the head for some reason. I could wiggle the pistons in the cylinders! They had about 1/16" of play!

You know why the English don't manufacture a Television Set don't you?

They haven't figured out a way to make 'em LEAK OIL!

Yeah, I was a slow learner... 20 years later I encouraged my girlfriend to buy an old Jag XJ-12 which had been converted to a Chevy. "Oh Yeah" I thought!

Well unfortunately it had Lucas Electricals all over it--but at least that darn Jag. V-12 was gone!

I spent a LOT of time under that car, and under the hood. It WAS a fun car to drive... when it was running!

#1. 86 chev 3/4 ton 4x4 with 350 motor. I payed way too much. I fixed too much. When I sold it I only got half what I payed for it. It was by far the most gutless thing I have ever owned. Got I stuck in the mud with bald tire and it still couldn't spin the tires.

A vehicle I drove around in my high school days. A 74 ford bronco. I could punch the pedal through the floor. Started up like crap. That 302 ate like a 460. Fourwheel drive worked once.

My favorite one I own was a 72 GMC Jimmy. Had 350,4spd,4x4. I owned it for ten years. Had to get rid of it. It needed restoration. So I let it go while it was still in good condition.

My Parents had an 81 Pontiac Phoenix (same as the Chevy Citation). This was Motot Trend's Car of the Year!! What a joke. You name it, it broke. The mechanic told them to sell it, cuz it was making noises in the engine, that he could not find. Best advice they ever took.

I have been pretty lucky, I haven't owned many vehicles:

1966 Dodge Coronet poly 318, 727 auto: my first car, paid $200 (in 1991). Drove it for two years then towed it to farm field when it threw a rod. Sold carcass for $50.

1969 Dodge Coronet 2-dr sedan: bought as project in 1995 for $550- it barely ran. Had horrible interior but the baody was sound enough to use as a Super Bee clone. Never had time or money for it after a year, so it just sat. Sold last july for $600 as a parts car. That car had so much potential... .

1988 Honda Accord: bought as parts chaser while working on Coronet. Sold in 1996 for same price I paid for it (after driving it a year). Couldn't have a car at the air force academy, so it went away.

2000 Dodge Dakota: built to order 4x4 with all options available in aug '99. Totalled 6 days after delivery (I was rear-ended hard enough to bend the frame into the St. Louis Arch over the rear axle)-- it had 1600 miles on it. Lost about $5000. Learned about gap insurance.

1997 Nissan Maxima: Bought new year's eve of 1999 with 28K on it just turned in off lease. now has over 109K on it-- some of it bracket racing. Looks to go another 100K. It's never had anything go wrong- period. I love this car!

2002 CTD: well, you all know about this one.

I think the worst of them all was the 1969 Coronet because it kept tortuing me with the prospect that I would someday own my 1969 B-Body Mopar musclecar. Once I left for college in 1996, it never saw the road again. I have found that a CTD greatly eases the pain of losing a vintage Mopar.....

Worst by far... . '86 GMC 4x4 6. 2 diesel crankshaft broke in two places... destroyed the block, torque convertor, and one head. Replaced it with a new crate 6. 5 diesel. The 6. 5 had the ring gaps all in line on the two middle cylinders -right bank. That "piece o crap" diesel was opened up twice on GM warranty to fix it. Wish I had stuck a 6BT in it... ... Never again GM diesel... Duromax or otherwise...

Hey Jeff H, I have a '72 Jimmy that I am slowly (very slowly) trying to restore, great trucks.

Worst of all, no contest - 1990 GMC Suburban. Half ton, 350, auto, 2wd, "conversion package". Velour interior, captain chairs, 2-tone silver/maroon - awesomely sharp looking when we bought it. Ran good for about a year, then the truck started self destructing. EVERYTHING that could fade, peel, split, tear, squeak, rattle, groan, shriek, dissolve, break, or quit did so. Replaced just about everything on it at least once.

The highlight of owning it for me, was driving down a dirt road to the Scout ranch with the usual concert of shrieks, rattles, and groans when BAM!! the overhead console breaks loose from its mounts, swings down onto the light wires and zips over like a pendulum to clock me in the side of the head, almost knocking me out.

Another favorite: 1982 Oldsmobile Brougham - computer and emissions controls by Charles Manson. Car ran like the engine was possessed, vibrated - shook - missed - stalled - ran like a sick puking dog no matter what you did. Spent more time working on it than all my other cars put together. Had a fiendish EGR type system with small pipes running into the exhaust manifolds, these regularly broke and getting them off was an incredible pain. This was the first car I ever actually considered setting on fire just for the pleasure of watching it burn.

Worst car ever`````

Toss up between two vehicles:

1964 Renault Dulphine Need I say more??

and

1990 Ford Ranger You name it, it was wrong with this vehicle. Ford hasn't realized what they lost when they lost me as a customer. Up until that Ford, besides the Renault, I never owned anything but a Ford. Well times have changed, 18 new vehicles later, not one Ford. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
