Weight Dist. Hitch or not?

Can someone identify this hitch?

They had those where I bought our camper. They have a wide floor above the wheel wells that looks like a dance floor compared to a regular camper. The are proud of them, but they are as nice as a class C motorhome, and they don't give those away.

I don't think they are going to get any bids on that thing. Before I spent that much money on a pickup camper, I would buy a trailer that has all of the above and a LOT more room in it for the same or less money.

Trailers definitely give you the most bang for your buck. Other overpriced items are tent trailers and camper vans IMO.

The downsides that I saw to the slide outs were:

1. Lost insulating value.

2. Not very friendly inside when the slides were in (for quick rest stops you don't always want to spend the time sliding them out).

3. Extra weight which is already a big concern with the slide-ins.

4. Something extra to break.

Guy's,

I am not much of a fan of slide ins, just got rid of my 9'6" Bigfoot and replaced it with a new Toy Hauler that is much more user friendly. But cost or should I say "The" cost of this double slide seems to be a topic of interest here. Well let me tell you $29,995. 00 is not all that bad of a price for a slide in camper today, sadly. Big foot has at least a couiple of models that are real close to that 30 grand and they don't have ANY slide outs. And while at the dealer buying my Hauler there where two brand new Lance campers both with a single slide out that where almost $40,000. 00. So that $29,995. 00 price tag may not be that big of a deal HUH ?

I'm with David on this one. To each their own, but I wouldn't think of a camper with a slide. Fully loaded I'm at 11,555 lbs with my relatively light weight camper. I doubt very much that there is any camper with a slide that is as light as mine and I only have a few hundred pounds left over.
