Ok, as most of you have read I have installed some power adders as of late. I decided to install the rest of the stuff I bought, so I know my clutch is on borrowed time for sure! I am running low on funds so a SB con OFE or FE are out of the question for now. Here is a list of parts that will be installed by the end of the week, please give me your best guestimate on power (hp and tq) that I might be making, and if you think the Center Force or Dyna Max Con O from TST will hold up.

TST #10 plate full forward

TST AFC spring kit

TST 16cm² housing

Piers 3K gsk

370 marine injectors

4" exhaust NO catalytic converter

Don't put the injectors in until you have the money to put the right clutch in.

Centra Force is not going to hold that power very long and I haven't heard about the other. Can look into Luk they are around $1000 for the cerametlic.

With that set up you should be making over 400RWHP. Egts are going to be hot. Did you ever move your egt pre-turbo?

No, not yet but I broke my rear end yoke last nightso while my truck is down I decided to finish everything. I broke 3 out of 4 bolt on the manifold taking the turbo off, so I decided to pull the manifold (just finished) and I will install the EGT probe at work tomorrow.

Ok, so you say my EGT will be hot... what do I need to add to the combo to make them cooler. I am not in the market for a bigger, better turbo at the moment so is there any bandaid? More air? move the #10 plate back some?

TST says the clutch I am looking at will hold 400hp and 900ft. lb. TQ

The part number looks like a SB part number, but says it is a Dyna Max??

Wait

to do the 370's for sure. Or at least untill you can afford the clutch you want (you mentioned 2 from Peter already) so you don't spend $$$$$ on two clutch's. I run Piers' 40 with other airflow improvements as well and can still peg the pyro fairly quickly. With the 370's you need at least 1 bigger turbo, just make sure you get the clutch handled then you can do the 370's and push that 10 plate back a-ways. Also heard there may be a dyno day late this month so if the stock isn't done by then you can fry it there :-laf . take care Jeff

Sweet... you are a local :)

We need to get together so you can teach me about these trucks that I dont break everything LOL

I will be at the dyno at the end of teh month... hopefully the truck will be too.

we do need to have another local get-together it's been awhile. Feel free to call anytime 707-678-4387 and also you can send me your contact info via e-mail or p. m. and I will ad you to our local list. Jeff

Your 16 housing will cool the egt's quite a bit. That with the 4" exhaust is a good change. Power wise you will be at about 410-420 HP. I installed the same as you minus the 16 housing, I did the 14, and I was at 406 HP. I ran the SB con o for 2 years and broke one of the dampner springs. I would not advise you to buy a dual disc for the street. It does not shift easy at all.

Preston, I don't have much experience with different clutch's, let alone DD's but I can honestly say that my/Peters' DD it as easy to drive as the stock one was. You can hear a little bit of a rattle from it with it in neutral and pedal out and the radio off, but my 5" pipes are much more noticeable :D . I have dynoed from 320 hp to 451 hp with this clutch and hopefully much more in the future and I think it's great, but the cost  is certainly not for everyone! Jeff

With the #10 centered you may be able to keep egt's down to 1300. Stock injectors. You need an HX40, DD Jammer, or some other bigger turbo for moving the plate forward and/or 370 injectors. You will be about 345 hp, 860 ft lb centered, and as others noted upwards of 400 or so and over 1000 ft lb with the plate forward. If you want to play, ya gotta pay. . . for a turbo, and for a good clutch. Fuel is cheap, air and clutch aren't, as you found out.

I'm running a similar setup to what you are looking at except I've got a PDR HX40. I've been quite happy with my South Bend ConFE, it's everything they say it is and has never had a problem holding the power no matter how hard I am on it.

Here's a link to my Dyno #'s with current setup and plate full forward. Dyno #'s

Take it easy,

Mike
