B'day present from Lana was

Anchorage and Wasilla

Hammersley, let us know what you think after you shoot it. I looked at a 329 last week and am a bit concerned about recoil being it's so light. I have 2 629's. One in a 3" and a 5" which weigh almost twice as much as the 329.

I know what you mean and as I understand

from the gunsmith here in Vancouver - great guy - Mike at Brightwater Adventurers - he says it is for protection only - NOT pleasant to shoot at the range. AND he mentioned that while they come with both a rubber and wooden grip - owners think the wooden one is best because it allows the revolver to move in your hand and NOT TAKE OFF ANY SKIN..... which can happen as you hold it to tight... ... . kind'a sounds like a bear - but like I think - if it isn't light - you won't carry it - and the big 454's and up are way to heavy... ... . will report my feelings..... and I have an average hand - not a lineman's.....

I've had two of these:

one for a Colt Cobra and the other for a Vaquero. It works really well when your moving and doing, hunting and fishing. It puts the gun on your weak side but not under your arm pit, so it's kind of a cross-draw, but it's above your belt kind of like a shoulder rig. It's hard to explain. I guess you could say the weakside of your stomach just above your belt. Anyway, I liked them.

I have either a 627 or 629, can't remember which. I would suggest a longer barrel than a 4". Remember the shot shells for grouse if you can't hit them with a rock, oops did I say that. :)

I use a shoulder holster to keep the pistola out of the way whist hunting with the 270 (bear tickler). Pepper spray on the belt.
